About the company
The MOKA Board of Directors expanded their commitment beyond direct services and support by creating the MOKA Foundation on October 24, 2001 with a mission to provide education, advocacy, and resources on behalf of individuals with disabilities. The MOKA Foundation is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) public charity and gifts are tax-deductible. The Foundation’s first outreach tool, Life Goal Planning (trademarked in 2006), was so successful it became a MOKA core service in 2011. The Foundation is committed to the following principles and invites you to share your time, talents, and treasure so together we can: Support the dignity and worth of each individual with a disability. Advocate on behalf of the individuals MOKA serves, their parents or guardians, and our stakeholders. Support developments within the mental health field for individuals with disabilities. Examples we have or continue to support are self-determination, person-centered planning, and gentle teaching. Support social, recreational, and educational activities for individuals MOKA supports but are not funded through other sources. Maintain, improve, and replace MOKA properties and infrastructure through funding physical plant and technological improvements. Share our stories with individuals, corporations, and foundations to discover if their passion matches our mission and need. Explore support through annual gifts, capital projects, or planned gifts. Establish unrestricted, restricted, and endowment funds, using interest earned to support existing programs or corporation and foundation sponsored activities. Develop relationships with community leaders and partners.
